Cloudera investor Frank Artale was the managing director of Ignition Partners and a former Microsoft executive in the 1990s. He said that everything Intel has done with Cloudera has also been done for Microsoft and Windows.

Intel had been working with Microsoft to make Windows work better on Intel chips. As the former general manager of Windows 2000, Artale said: “Their customers — like Compaq and HP — say, 'Intel believes it, so we believe too.' It, 'Then the corporate customers also believe it.'

Cloudera had already raised $1.2 billion at the end of this round of financing, but it allowed several other versions of Hadoop to have its own software development system at Google and Yahoo, which is free to use and is known as an open source in the industry.
