On July 14th, Samsung held the "Autistic and Painted, Loved by the Wall" exhibition featuring paintings and art at the Beijing Shanshui Art Museum. The event marked the official launch of Samsung's revolutionary art television product in China, marking a significant shift in how we perceive TV aesthetics. Jin Yuanxi, CEO of Samsung Electronics Greater China Region’s Consumer Electronics headquarters, emphasized that China remains one of Samsung’s key markets. Samsung continues to innovate in both service and product development, aiming to provide Chinese consumers with smarter and more comfortable living experiences. "Screen Everywhere" represents Samsung’s vision for the future, and the newly introduced Wall Art TV embodies this concept uniquely.
The Wall Art TV breaks the conventional boundary of television usage. Traditionally, once a TV is turned off, it becomes a black screen. However, the Wall Art TV reinvents this notion by switching to an art mode when not in use. With its 4K ultra-high-definition screen, it can showcase beautiful artworks and cherished family photos, integrating art seamlessly into daily life.
Liu Junguang, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Greater China CE division, explained that the Wall Art TV will become an integral part of home decor, offering a 24/7 experience that blends effortlessly with any lifestyle. This innovation redefines what we think a TV can be, pushing beyond previous limitations.
Samsung has also introduced unique customization options, allowing users to personalize their TV experience. With a collection of 100 works by 37 artists from ten different schools, users can choose art pieces that match their interior decoration tastes. The TV also offers customizable features such as background colors and picture layouts, giving users the ability to display their favorite photos or artwork.
The Wall Art TV comes with a "customizable border," which can be easily swapped out to suit different moods and interiors. Options include retro dark brown, elegant peach wood, and moonlight white, enhancing the artistic ambiance of the space. Samsung has paid meticulous attention to detail, incorporating features like a brightness sensor that adjusts screen brightness based on ambient light, ensuring the TV blends seamlessly into any environment.
A dynamic sensor detects user movement, automatically switching between different modes. The TV's stand and base are designed to resemble an easel, while its wall-mounting system and "thin-curtain line" invisible cable management ensure a clutter-free appearance, preserving the integrity of the living space.
The Wall Art TV was co-designed with renowned Swiss designer Yves Behar and debuted at CES earlier this year, sparking industry-wide interest. Combining artistic design with cutting-edge technology, the TV transforms art into a daily companion, elevating the aesthetic of home environments.
Inspired by Pu Songling’s classic Chinese novel, "Strange Stories from the Qing Dynasty," the name "Painting and Wall" reflects the TV’s ability to seamlessly blend art and technology. Renowned home designer Wang Fengbo praised the TV as a perfect fusion of art and technology, adaptable to various styles and lifestyles.
Currently, consumers in China can purchase the Wall Art TV at leading retailers such as Red Star Macalline, Left and Right Furniture, and Tmall Black Box. This innovative product promises to redefine the relationship between technology and art, setting a new benchmark for future TV design and enriching the aesthetic of modern homes.
