On September 1, the world’s largest and most influential consumer electronics event, IFA, kicked off in Germany as planned. As one of the earliest Chinese brands to go global, Hisense has been a regular participant at IFA for over a decade, gradually building its reputation on the international stage. This year, the company showcased its globally available ULED Ultra HD TV lineup, including the 9 Series, 8 Series, 7 Series, and 6 Series. Among them, the newly launched 7 Series, based on the successful 7700 model from the 2016–2017 period, became a major highlight of the IFA appliance section.
ULED is Hisense's proprietary technology designed to enhance picture quality. By using multi-zone backlight control and multi-level dimming, it elevates LCD TVs to an unprecedented level of clarity and contrast. Compared to OLED TVs, which are often used as a benchmark, ULED has become increasingly competitive. At this year’s IFA, Hisense unveiled the flagship 9 Series ULED TV, featuring up to 1,000 backlight zones with 4,096 levels of fine-tuning per zone, delivering depth and detail that even OLED struggles to match.
In recent years, Hisense’s ULED technology has started to gain traction globally. The MU7000 series, the first product in the 7 Series lineup, has already been sold in 67 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, and Australia. In the Chinese market, data from China Yikang shows that the 55-inch MU7000 series ranked first in the high-end segment, with over 6,000 units sold at prices exceeding 2,800 yuan, making it a top-selling premium product.
At IFA, the 7 Series ULED also made its debut under the NU7700 model. Featuring a borderless panoramic design, Cartier silver ceramic metal finish, and a screwless structure, the 7700 series once again pushed the boundaries of design and technology in ULED TVs. It promises a seamless blend of aesthetics and performance, offering a truly immersive viewing experience. The product will be available in the Chinese market starting September 7.
