Fine aggregate methylene blue test device

Calculation

The fine aggregate methylene blue value (MBV) is calculated using formula T0349-2, and rounded to the nearest 0.1.


MBV = (T0349-2)


Where:

MBV – methylene blue value (g/kg), indicating the amount of methylene blue consumed per kilogram of 0–2.36 mm sample;

M – sample mass (g);

V – total volume (mL) of methylene blue solution added.


Note: The factor 10 in the formula is used to convert the volume of methylene blue solution consumed per kg of sample into mass.


2. Evaluation of rapid methylene blue test results:


If a distinct color halo appears around the precipitate, the test is considered acceptable. If no clear halo is observed, the test is deemed不合格 (unqualified).


3. The methylene blue value (MBVF) for the fraction less than 0.15 mm or mineral powder is calculated using formula T0349-3, accurate to 0.1.

MBVF – methylene blue value (g/kg), representing the grams of methylene blue consumed per kilogram of 0–0.15 mm sample or mineral powder;

4. The calculation and evaluation of the clay content or stone powder content in fine aggregate are carried out according to the method specified in T 0333.
