On July 13th, in London local time, Jaguar officially unveiled its latest compact sports SUV, the E-PACE model, at a global launch event held in the city. As a new addition to Jaguar's PACE series of SUVs, the E-PACE draws heavily from the successful design elements of the F-PACE while focusing on a youthful and fashionable aesthetic. Additionally, the new E-PACE is set to be officially introduced and localized in our country next year.
The exterior design of the E-PACE closely follows the style of its successful family counterpart, the F-PACE. However, unlike traditional SUVs, the E-PACE also incorporates elements of a sports car, featuring a front grille and fascia that resemble those of the iconic F-TYPE. This gives the vehicle a sportier and more youthful appearance.
The dimensions of the E-PACE are 4395mm in length, 1984mm in width, 1649mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2681mm. While slightly smaller than the F-PACE, the E-PACE maintains a sleek and smart profile.
Inside, the E-PACE retains the classic Jaguar interior design, combining simplicity with elegance. It features a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a fully digital LCD instrument panel, enhancing both functionality and luxury. One notable change from the F-PACE is the reintroduction of a traditional gear shifter, offering a more engaging driving experience. Despite being a compact model, the E-PACE offers an impressive 568 liters of luggage space, capable of accommodating suitcases, golf clubs, and even a stroller simultaneously.
The E-PACE is equipped with the Jaguar Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, featuring a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen that responds as smoothly as a smartphone. The system supports 4G connectivity and can connect up to eight Wi-Fi devices, providing enhanced convenience for both drivers and passengers.
Under the hood, the E-PACE offers multiple powertrain options, including both gasoline and diesel engines. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 246 horsepower. Most models will come with a nine-speed automatic transmission, though a six-speed manual option is available. All-wheel drive is standard across the range, except for the base diesel model, which comes with front-wheel drive.
Priced at $38,600 USD (approximately ¥260,000 RMB) in the U.S. market and £28,500 GBP (approximately ¥250,000 RMB) in the UK market, the E-PACE competes directly with rivals like the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. With its combination of performance, style, and affordability, the Jaguar E-PACE is positioned to become a strong contender in the compact luxury SUV segment.
