It is understood that the second phase of the Zhuhai public green lighting LED streetlight renovation project involves 421 roads in the city, a total of about 37,000 lamps will be reconstructed, with a total investment of about 160 million yuan, plus the street lights that the districts are responsible for, and the second phase of the project will be transformed. The street lamp is about 60,000. Prior to this, the first phase of the project reconstructed the street lights of 241 roads in some areas of the main city, involving about 27,000 street lights. The road grades include express roads, main roads, secondary roads and branch roads. The types of lamps include street lights and garden lights. The total static investment is 88.914 million yuan, which was completed at the end of 2013. After the renovation, the annual electricity consumption is 12.8162 million kWh, and the energy saving rate is 65.25%.
It is reported that the scope of the second phase of the project includes the roads of Lovers Road, Ningxi Road, Qianshan Interchange to Huxin Road and other municipal roads, and is divided into four tenders for bidding. Guangdong Dehao Runda Electric Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Special Economic Zone Philips Home Appliances Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Huamei Lighting Co., Ltd. and other four companies won the bids from 1 to 4.
Industry insiders pointed out that in addition to energy saving and emission reduction, driving the development of LED industry is also an important goal of LED street lighting transformation. According to the relevant regulations, the products used in the renovation project must be the recommended catalogue products of the province's LED benchmarking system. Under other conditions, the priority is to purchase local enterprise products, which is also a consideration for stimulating the development of the local LED industry. 
Following the completion of the first phase of the renovation of public green lighting LED streetlights in Zhuhai in November 2013, the second phase of the renovation project will be launched. It is reported that the bidding for the second phase of LED lighting procurement and installation has been completed, and the local enterprises in the four LED lighting manufacturers that have won the bid for large orders have accounted for three.
