On the afternoon of November 13, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government held a press conference in Beijing. They announced that the 6th China Electronic Information Expo (CITE2018) would take place from April 9 to 11, 2018, at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. This event is a key industry activity aimed at implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, showcasing the latest developments in the electronic information sector.
Wu Shijing, Director of the Electronic Information Department at MIIT and Deputy Chairman of the CITE Organizing Committee, attended the press conference. Wu Shengwu, Deputy Director of the Electronic Information Department at MIIT and Director of the CITE Organizing Committee Office, provided an overview of the preparations for CITE2018. Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and Deputy Director of the CITE Organizing Committee Office, discussed the layout of the exhibition halls and the development of Shenzhen's electronic information industry. Chen Wenhai, General Manager of China Electronic Equipment Corporation and Secretary-General of the CITE Organizing Committee Office, shared details about the event planning. Ren Pingping, Marketing Director of HKUST’s Information Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the preparations for the AI museum on behalf of exhibitors.
More than 150 representatives from media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television, and China Daily, as well as industry associations and experts, attended the event. The CITE2018 aims to become a globally recognized annual event, leading in the industry, first in Asia, and top-tier worldwide. Over the past five years, it has grown into the largest and most comprehensive electronics expo in Asia, setting the trend for the industry.
The 6th China Electronic Information Expo will span over 100,000 square meters, featuring 25 professional exhibition areas. It will focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, high-end chips, virtual reality, intelligent connected vehicles, smart homes, and e-sports. Key pavilions include the AI Pavilion, Smart Manufacturing and 3D Printing Pavilion, Robotics and Intelligent Systems Pavilion, and the Lithium Battery New Energy Museum. These exhibits will highlight the latest advancements and trends in the intelligent era.
CITE2018 will also feature various events, including keynote speeches, special forums, innovation award selections, and technology showcases. The event is expected to attract major companies like Intel, Qualcomm, Huawei, and Xiaomi, as well as international participants. With its strong industry presence and global reach, CITE2018 is set to be a pivotal platform for the future of the electronic information industry.
