Technology is still immature, scale effect is not obvious

At present, OLEDs used in mobile phone displays can maintain 5,000 to 10,000 hours, while OLED TVs must maintain at least 30,000 to 50,000 hours. In addition, when using an OLED TV, image quality should not be a problem, the key is how long a high level of image quality can last. Such technical problems still need to be overcome, and OLEDs can make a qualitative leap.

With Sony and Panasonic announcing the exit of OLED research and development, the OLED camp is slimming down. The withdrawal of Sony and Panasonic does not mean that it is not optimistic about the future of OLED, but because OLED technology is too difficult, and the research and development of related technologies needs to be invested. Too much cost, which is undoubtedly unaffordable for companies that have been sluggish in their TV business.

The industry believes that OLED is the future display technology direction that the industry is paying attention to. At present, it is subject to some key technologies, low cost and low yield. The scale application and large-scale industrialization of the panel still have a long process. In the next 2-3 years, OLED technology will be presented in parallel with the current mainstream TFT-LCD technology. In the short term, OLEDs cannot replace LCD TVs.
