Loss of 27 Coal Machinery Enterprises in 2013

On May 27, the National Coal Machinery Industry Technology Innovation Forum was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

It is understood that in 2013, a number of indicators for the national coal machinery industry showed a downward trend, and only indicators such as accounts receivable, liabilities and assets showed an increasing trend. In 2013, there were 27 losses in 131 coal machinery enterprises nationwide, an increase of 6 over 2012, and loss-making enterprises accounted for 20.61% of the total number of enterprises.

In 2013, the total profit of China's coal machinery enterprises fell by a large margin, total profit was 4.317 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 44.38%. The total output of coal machinery enterprises was 4,435,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.11%; the total industrial output value reached 107.146 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.14%; the main business income was 122.456 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.78%.

According to statistics, in 2013, the accounts receivable of 131 coal machinery enterprises reached 48.157 billion yuan, up 20.4% year-on-year; the liabilities reached 108.807 billion yuan, an increase of 9.76% year-on-year; the assets reached 185.092 billion yuan, an increase of 10.34% over the same period of last year.

In 2013, both the employees of coal machinery enterprises and their per capita annual income declined. The average number of employees in the enterprise was 163,100, a year-on-year decrease of 2.34%; the per capita annual income was approximately 47,000 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.91%.

In order to keep up with the pace of restructuring, transformation and upgrading of coal mines, coal-fired machine manufacturing companies have accelerated their integration and restructuring. According to the "12th Five-Year Plan" for the development of the coal industry, the national level of coal mining mechanization should reach more than 75%. However, with the current sluggish coal, the decline in profits of coal companies will intensify competition among domestic coal machinery companies. In terms of the machine industry, these are both opportunities and challenges. At the same time, they also put forward higher requirements for the coal machinery industry.

The "2013 China Coal Equipment Manufacturing Industry Development Report" pointed out that in the face of new situation and new tasks, China's coal machinery equipment manufacturing industry has further clarified that "improving the level of localization of equipment and enhancing the manufacturing capacity of large-scale equipment and the reliability of products." The goal is to focus on the core technologies and accelerate the development of key components.

Participants pointed out that China has become the largest country in the manufacture and use of coal machinery equipment. However, compared with the overall requirements for the modernization and development of the coal industry, there is still a problem of lagging development in the level of technology and equipment. The next step will be for China's coal machinery equipment. Manufacturing should focus on the main line of “safety and reliability” and focus on solving problems such as the completeness and stability of large-scale equipment.
