Recently, Fraunhofer IPMS of Germany presented a miniature projector with new OLED technology.

This new product does not use DLP or LCOS technology used in general pico projectors. Since O LEDs can self-illuminate, the advantage is that only static optical systems, such as lenses, are required, so DLP is not required to use reflective light.

The projector uses an 8mm x 6mm green OLED panel to project 640 x 480 images. In terms of size, the diameter is only 17mm, the length is only 24mm, and the whole volume is only 10 cubic centimeters. In terms of performance, the projector currently projects a 6-inch screen at a distance of 30 to 50 cm.

Fraunhofer said frankly that the OLED projector faces the same problems as LED projectors - the brightness is too low, and if the brightness of the improved technology can reach 4 to 5 times, the technology will be maximized. .
