Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute, using Taiwan's road lighting standards and US LED lighting standards as a reference, has temporarily identified 12 specifications for the use of LEDs in street lights. The draft of the street light specification will be submitted to the Taiwan Bureau of Standards and approved by the Measurement and Testing Bureau.
The Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute has tested about 40-60 LED manufacturers, but no more than five manufacturers have received confirmation that most of them cannot overcome the technical barriers to light efficiency and color adjustment. Received confirmation is the ability to produce LED manufacturers with 70-80 lumens per watt. Can replace mercury vapor lamps.
