On January 9th, Beijing time, the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will take place in Las Vegas as scheduled. Since its 50th edition, CES has become a global stage where top consumer electronics companies showcase their latest innovations. Every year, exhibitors unveil groundbreaking products or introduce new technologies. This year’s 51st edition was no different—major manufacturers from around the world brought their most advanced technologies to the event, demonstrating their commitment to innovation and excellence.
Hisense, a leading name in the television industry, made a strong appearance at CES, unveiling a range of new TV models during a press conference held on January 8 in Las Vegas. The company has been continuously pushing the boundaries of display technology, upgrading its laser TV line three times in just four years. From 100-inch 1080p to 100-inch 4K, and then to 100-inch dual-color 4K, Hisense has expanded its product range to include smaller 80-inch 4K models and larger 150-inch 4K options. OLED remained a key highlight at this year’s event.
During the press conference, President Liu Hongxin shared Hisense’s impressive achievements in 2017, including selling over 41 million units globally and becoming the fourth-largest TV brand worldwide. The company also ranked first in South Africa and Australia for both TVs and refrigerators, earning 62 international awards and exporting products to 151 countries.
Hisense introduced the ULED U7 and U9 series, designed specifically for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The U9 model features a groundbreaking 1000-zone backlight system, offering ultra-high dynamic contrast and precision lighting control. Paired with the QD four-dimensional real-world restoration system and MotionFlow motion compensation technology, it delivers stunning visuals ideal for watching large-scale sports events.
In addition, Hisense launched the 150-inch dual-color laser TV S6, featuring an adjustable screen size from 120 to 150 inches. With HDR imaging and 120Hz MEMC technology, it enhances picture quality and motion smoothness. The audio system also saw a major upgrade, with Harman Kardon custom-tuned sound embedded into the laser host and a wireless subwoofer for convenience and professional-grade bass.
The L6 series, including the 88L6 and HU100L6 models, continues to impress with high-performance hardware and the VIDAA smart TV system, supporting a variety of smart lifestyle experiences. Hisense also unveiled the world’s first 75-inch 1000-zone ULED TV, showcasing exceptional depth and detail that rival real-life scenes.
As laser TV technology continues to evolve, the market is reaching a critical growth phase. Liu Hongxin believes the era of laser TVs leading the next generation of television is now underway. With its strong presence at CES, Hisense aims to redefine its brand image globally, offering a fresh and innovative perspective that sets it apart from the past. We can’t wait to see what Hisense has in store for the future.
