First, the danger of electrostatic discharge (ESD)

ESD (electrostatic discharge) often occurs in any part of the process of LED display production, transportation, installation, etc. Due to the irregular operation, the product is broken down by static electricity, causing sudden damage and potential damage of the LED display product.

1. Sudden damage reduces product yield and increases business costs

Sudden damage refers to: The voltage between two or more pins of the LED product component exceeds the breakdown strength of the component medium, causing serious damage to the components and loss of function. This kind of damage can usually be found in the quality inspection during the production process, and will not directly affect the customer's use, but if the manufacturer is exposed to static electricity for a long time, it will increase the production cost.

To minimize the harm of static electricity to LED displays, manufacturers, distributors and customers are required to strictly implement the ESD20.20 standard during production, transportation and use. Direct discharge of static electricity through the wire connection to the earth during production is the most direct and effective of anti-static measures.

1, production end static prevention

Training of static electricity knowledge and related technologies for personnel using static sensitive circuits.

In the production process, workers are required to wear a grounded electrostatic wristband. Especially in the process of cutting feet, inserts, commissioning and post-welding, and monitoring, quality personnel must do a static test of the bracelet at least every two hours to make a test record.

Requires the production environment to lay copper wire grounding, such as floors, walls, and ceilings used in some occasions, should use anti-static materials.

In daily operation, the LED display product should always be stored in an anti-static bag or container.

2, transport terminal static prevention

When transporting, the transport vehicle remains grounded, and the box or other equipment carries conductive wheels or drags.

When contacting LED products, keep the correct handling method, do not directly touch the PCB and the electronic components above.

3, client static prevention

When installing the screen, the customer and the engineer must also strictly follow the anti-static operation, and do not directly touch the core electronic components of the product without protection measures.

When installing the screen steel structure, make effective grounding and put the static electricity of the screen into the ground.
