Foreword
It's hard to find a moment of peace these days. I've been wanting to put together my own desktop setup for some time now.
Let me introduce myself. I graduated from a graduate program in Japan earlier this year and joined an IT company. Currently, I'm still in the newcomer training phase.
Originally, I didn't plan to purchase a computer, thinking I wouldn't need a desktop.
However, plans often change. Having entered the IT industry, it's clear that computers are a necessity. When you decide to buy a computer, there are many considerations, and soon enough, my desktop became what it is today.
Below, let me show you my desktop setup.
Computers and Monitors

The configuration of the computer is shown in the image. Since I don't play games, I decided not to invest in a high-end graphics card.
Recently, memory prices have skyrocketed! !
The components were purchased from Amazon and Sofmap.

**CPU:** Intel Core i7-7700 BOX product | Available at PC Parts Store Sofmap
Price: ¥7,500, approximately 450RMB.
Heartbreaking, isn't it?
I ended up purchasing two monitors.

The first monitor is an **ASUS 23-inch frameless IPS monitor**, bought new. Price: ¥14,980, around $900.

**ASUS 23-inch Frameless Monitor**: Purchased directly from Amazon Japan. Price: ¥13,482, approximately $810.
The second monitor is a **Dell U2414**, purchased from a used electronics store. Price: ¥10,000, around $600.
I initially planned to buy two ASUS monitors, but I stumbled upon this Dell deal in Akihabara at a very reasonable price. Honestly, I'm glad I went with Dell instead of ASUS.
Keyboard and Watch
Why are the keyboard and watch grouped together under one heading?
Because the photos were taken simultaneously.

The keyboard is made by a Japanese company named **CENTURY**. The model is the **BlackPawn**.
I got this keyboard second-hand, and the price was ¥5,500.
It features **Cherry MX Red switches**, 64 keys, and supports macro functions.

The watch is a **Hamilton**, model **H766550**, with the **ETC2895-2 movement**.
This model has been discontinued, so I purchased it from Japan's Bluek website for ¥60,000.

It’s supposed to store energy for 44 hours, but... it keeps stopping! Always stopping!
I really regret not buying a solar-powered version.
Speakers and Amplifier
In the smzdm community, there are local tycoons everywhere, and my speakers and amplifier combined might not even cover a day's worth of their living expenses.
But this doesn’t bother me.

The speakers are an old **Aihua 2.0 bookshelf speaker**, and I couldn’t find any information about them online.
I bought these from HardOff in Akihabara for just ¥300! That’s less than $20!
Such a steal!
On top of the speakers sits an audio interface from **Beringer**, which I use to connect my electric guitar that cost ¥400.
Next is the amplifier.

This is also a budget-friendly option. It’s a generic brand from China.
Price: ¥3,500, or about $200.
It works fine though.
Debris
Let me now introduce some other items on the desk.

First, proof that I’m slightly neurotic. My e-cigarette.
I don’t smoke, but why did I buy an e-cigarette? I honestly don’t know.
And I also bought a VAPE device.
It hasn’t arrived yet.
Next are some snacks lying on the table.

There’s a box of **Muji Dry Milk Tablets** (not the exact name).
Also, there’s a box of snacks called **Di Zuoji**.
Japan has countless snack options, and I haven’t even scratched the surface.
They’re sweet and delicious.
Next are some seasonings, scented sprays, and lotions.

Why are condiments here? I forgot to tidy them away.
The large bottle is a facial mist I intended to refill, but it didn’t work out.
There’s also a sweat-repellent spray from the **ROHTO** company.
This pharmaceutical company is more famous for its eye drops, for example:

This one is quite popular.
And finally, here’s a full view of the desktop.

To Sum Up
I graduated in March this year and started my job successfully.
As a liberal arts graduate, I joined an IT company.
Wherever you are, opportunities always favor those who work hard.
Though my time in the company is still brief,
there are still many things I don’t fully understand.
But I believe I won’t fall behind compared to the Japanese colleagues.
Finally, I wish all those who are striving—whether in Beijing, Guangzhou, New York, or London—that you can find someone you love,
and live the life you desire.
Lastly, here’s a quote I really like, attributed to Zhang Dalu Wang Oda Nobunaga:
“Life is fleeting, like a dream, fleeting.â€
Even if life is short, as long as we strive and manage well, the outcome will follow.
That’s all for now.
