On December 4th, NetEase Smart News reported that the Fourth World Internet Conference's Artificial Intelligence Forum took place in Wuzhen today. During the AI Technology and Industry Roundtable, Wang Xiaochuan, CEO of Sogou, shared some interesting insights. He mentioned that during Sogou’s IPO, he received over 4,000 congratulatory messages, which was too many to respond to individually. To handle this, his team developed a chatbot to help manage the responses. At the forum, Wang emphasized that Sogou has always focused on language-related technologies, as it is the foundation of human cognition. He outlined Sogou’s clear AI strategy, which revolves around its search engine and input method products. He also revealed that the Sogou Input Method processes over 300 million voice requests daily. The company is currently working on new forms of input, such as lip-reading technology. “Our current lip recognition accuracy has reached 60%,†he said, adding that the technology is still in early stages but shows great potential. In addition to voice and lip input, Sogou is exploring more natural and intuitive ways for users to interact with their devices. This includes integrating AI into everyday tasks, making technology more accessible and user-friendly. Wang also reflected on the challenges of managing a growing company and how AI can play a crucial role in streamlining operations. “We’re not just building tools; we're building smarter experiences,†he said.
