TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectivity, participated in the 2014 Shanghai Electronics Show in Munich with its four solution divisions to present cutting-edge connectivity solutions. The event took place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from March 18th to 20th. TE’s booth, spanning 180 square meters, was one of the most prominent in the W3 hall, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation and technological leadership.
With the theme "Joining the Future with TE," the company focused on its strengths in innovation, highlighting advanced solutions across Transportation, Industrial, Consumer Electronics, and Network Solutions. Through this exhibition, TE aimed to emphasize the essential role of connectivity in modern life and business. With an extensive product range, superior engineering capabilities, and ongoing investment in the Chinese market, TE remains a trusted partner for customer connectivity needs.
Having operated in China for over 26 years, TE Connectivity China continues to grow steadily, achieving sales of $2.2 billion in FY13. The company employs approximately 30,000 people across 18 production sites and supports customers through sales offices in 14 cities.
At the show, TE showcased its latest innovations tailored to industry trends:
**Transportation Solutions:** Focused on safer, more eco-friendly, and smarter systems. TE’s Automotive Division presented innovative technologies like LITEALUM aluminum crimping, non-contact sensors, and new energy vehicle solutions. Customized infotainment systems, terminals, connectors, relays, and central electrical boxes were also featured.
**Industrial Solutions:** Highlighted reliability and precision. The Dynamic Series connectors and MiniI/O systems demonstrated high-density, space-saving designs. The Medical Division showcased components that support critical medical applications.
**Consumer Electronics Solutions:** Emphasized performance, speed, and compact design. TE introduced triple-lock connector systems, MAG-MATE connectors with multispring pins, and secure circuit protection solutions, all designed for use in smartphones, home appliances, and other consumer devices.
**Network Solutions:** Explored beyond 25G. The STRADA Whisper backplane connector enabled data speeds up to 25 Gbps, expandable to 56 Gbps. Coolbit Light Engine technology supported ultra-fast data transmission from 100Gbps to 400Gbps with low power consumption, saving up to 60% energy.
Innovation has always been at the heart of TE’s success. In FY13, the company invested $675 million in R&D, representing 5% of total revenue.
