China Mobile Robotics (AGV) Industry Alliance Shanghai was established

On October 31, 2017, the China Mobile Robotics (AGV) Industry Alliance was officially launched in Shanghai, marking a significant milestone for the Chinese mobile robotics and AGV sector. This event not only highlighted the growing importance of automated guided vehicles and mobile robots in the country but also set the stage for collaborative innovation and industry development. The alliance, known as the "China Mobile Robot and AGV Industry Alliance" in English, aims to drive the rapid, efficient, and sustainable growth of the mobile robotics industry. By fostering cooperation among enterprises, research institutions, and government bodies, it seeks to build a strong foundation for technological advancement and industrial integration. Shenyang Xinsong Robot Automation Co., Ltd. was appointed as the first chairman unit, while the New Strategic Robot Industry Research Institute served as the secretariat. Other key members included Yunnan Kunming Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Beijing Machine Development Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen International Logistics Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Yifeng Robot Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Jizhijia Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Guozi Robot Technology Co., Ltd., which took on vice-chairman roles. With over 40 founding companies at its inception, the alliance quickly expanded to more than 100 members by the end of 2017. Its mission is to bring together high-quality enterprises, research institutes, media platforms, and government agencies to form a public technology innovation platform. This initiative will help establish long-term collaboration mechanisms between industry, academia, and research sectors, enabling resource sharing and the creation of a robust technological innovation chain. The alliance has four distinct characteristics that set it apart. First, it consists of leading enterprises in the industry, which helps accelerate industrial transformation and resource integration. Second, as the only AGV industry alliance in China, it covers almost all core companies across the entire supply chain. Third, it plans to form an expert advisory group composed of top professionals in the field. Lastly, it aims to invite well-known companies from major application industries as honorary members, creating a platform for production-demand alignment and technology implementation. Through continuous efforts, the alliance is committed to fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and building a bright future for the Chinese mobile robotics industry. It looks forward to contributing to the common, scientific, and sustainable development of the AGV and mobile robot sectors in China.
